Individual Therapy in Dallas You Can Trust — Safe, Affirming & Team‑Backed

Struggling to feel like yourself? Start healing in a space built for you.

At Dallas Rainbow Counseling, we offer LGBTQ+ affirming, solution-focused therapy that helps you move forward with clarity and confidence — with no shame, pressure, or judgment.

You deserve to be seen. To speak your truth. To heal in a space where being queer, trans, or gender-expansive isn’t just accepted — it’s affirmed.

I’m Rebekka Ouer, LCSW, founder of Dallas Rainbow Counseling, a therapy practice recognized for providing LGBTQ+ affirming care in Dallas. Since 2011, I’ve centered my practice on Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and affirming care for LGBTQ+ clients. My team member & fellow therapist Aika Shinkawa also offers compassionate, grounded LGBTQ+ therapy; passionately specializing in neurodivergence and autism within the queer community.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, identity shifts, family stress, or self-acceptance, our combined goal is to support your forward movement — with safety, empathy, confidentiality, and clarity.

Why Work With Us (What Makes This Different)

Therapy should feel like returning to your own voice, not adjusting yourself to someone else’s expectations. Here’s how we bring that vision to life:

Affirming for LGBTQ+ Lives

Your identity is never sidelined—it’s central. You’ll never be asked to mute parts of yourself to “fit in”.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

We build from what’s working now, rather than dwelling endlessly on faults & problems.
What is SFBT?
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy is a forward-focused, strengths-based approach that helps you build on what already works in your life, rather than spending session after session analyzing past problems.

A Dedicated, Diverse Team

Rebekka brings decades of clinical and lived experience. Aika brings a calm, relational presence. Together, we offer you choice and fit.

Deep Local Connection + Telehealth

Our Dallas office sits near the heart of Oak Lawn/Uptown (a central queer community hub). Virtual sessions are available statewide.

Confidential, Trauma-Informed Environment

We understand fear and invalidation. Every boundary is honored and your privacy protected.

Dallas Rainbow Counseling has become a trusted name for therapy that honors the lived experiences of queer and trans individuals in the Dallas community.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on you. Many clients notice meaningful shifts in as few as 1-3 sessions, some choose to keep the helpful conversations going for longer, but it’s not a rigid number — it’s a journey we design together, with you behind the wheel.

Is therapy confidential and safe for LGBTQ+ folks?

Absolutely. From intake to termination, confidentiality is foundational. Your identity, privacy, and pace are respected at every step.

What is SFBT and how does it differ from regular therapy?

SFBT is a solution‑oriented approach. Instead of digging endlessly into problems, we build from your strengths, resources & resiliencies and move toward what you want to see more of in your life.

Can I do sessions online if I’m not in Dallas?

Yes. We offer secure telehealth sessions across Texas so that you can access care wherever you are.

What if I’ve had painful therapy experiences before?

That’s more common than you might think. It’s okay to be cautious. Here, we move at your pace, listen first, and build trust on your terms.

What happens if therapy doesn’t feel helpful?

That’s a valid concern. If it doesn’t feel like the right fit, we encourage open dialogue. Our consultation helps you assess that from the start, and we will continue checking in. We are always happy to offer referrals for other therapy styles that might be a better fit for you or your situation.

You don’t have to wait to feel seen, supported, and empowered. Let’s journey forward — together.
