You won’t be left waiting weeks or wondering if your message disappeared.

2. Your identity is respected immediately.
You are wholly acknowledged as your authentic self from the start, without correction or explanation.

3. Your first session focuses on relief and clarity.
Instead of defending who you are, you can focus on the hopes that brought you to therapy from the very first interaction.

Expert-Led, LGBTQ+ Affirming Care You Don’t Have to Explain

Dallas Rainbow Counseling has been led by Rebekka Ouer, LCSW-S for over 15 years. She is a licensed clinical social worker and published author with advanced training & decades of experience in LGBTQ+ affirming care. This is a small clinician-led practice not a directory, not an algorithm, and not a volume-based platform.

Working with an expert-led practice means:

  • You’re met by a clinician who understands LGBTQ+ experiences without needing education
  • Care is grounded in evidence-based, solution-focused therapy
  • You have continuity, choice, and clear boundaries around scope and availability

For many clients, this is the first time therapy feels immediately safe instead of something they have to brace for.

Your Privacy and Confidentiality Are Taken Seriously

Concerns about confidentiality, records, and documentation especially in Texas are valid. We address them directly so you’re not left guessing or worrying later.

We use secure, HIPAA-compliant systems and a minimal-notes approach focused on clinical necessity not overdocumentation. We are thoughtful about how identity-related information is recorded and shared, and we do not collect more than what’s needed to support your care.

You stay informed, you stay in control, and your privacy is respected at every step.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist in Dallas?

You can request an appointment directly through our secure online portal. You’ll see real availability, choose your clinician, and receive clear next steps without waiting weeks for a response.

How quickly will I hear back after I reach out?

Requests are reviewed promptly. You won’t be left wondering whether your message went through or when someone will respond.

Do you offer online therapy in Texas?

Yes. We provide secure telehealth sessions across Texas, including Dallas–Fort Worth. Evening and after-work availability is offered when possible.

Will I need to explain my identity or pronouns?

No. Our intake process includes space for pronouns and identity, and our clinicians are trained in gender-affirming care. You’re not expected to educate or correct anyone.

How is my information protected, especially in Texas?

We use HIPAA-compliant systems and a minimal-notes philosophy. Documentation is handled carefully, with awareness of privacy concerns specific to LGBTQ+ clients.

What if I’ve had bad experiences with other therapists?

Many of our clients come to us after multiple failed attempts elsewhere. This practice is intentionally structured to reduce misgendering, delays, and emotional labor from the very first interaction.

What if I’m not sure yet?

You’re welcome to reach out with questions before booking. There’s no pressure—just clear answers so you can decide what feels right.

Queer couples need queer counselors. I’ve done therapy with a few different therapists, but the difference going to Rainbow Counseling is astronomical. There’s an entirely different understanding between yourself and your counselor this way. My partner and I attended 1 session so far, and yes counseling can be draining but I felt so much support, & relief after the session. Rebekka is INCREDIBLE. And the entire experience was enjoyable. Highly recommend!
