Some of the most amazing, wise, intelligent & warm people I know, are those that have been through some of the toughest things life has to offer. I think that perspective is a huge part of why those people are able to be so evolved.
I had a headache today, and it was killing me and not going away. I finally caved and took some medicine for it, and as soon as it relented I felt a huge sense of relief and began working a bit more eagerly on what I was doing at the time, because I could do it now without the pounding pain. I thought about that, and in that moment, just after the headache passed, I felt better than I will feel all day. That’s perspective.
One of my favorite movies of all time is Good Will Hunting, and in it Robin William’s character says this:
“You’ll have bad times. But that’ll always wake you up to the good stuff you weren’t paying attention to.”.
Perspective gives you the ability to be grateful for life’s tough times, it gives you the sight that allows you to see the glass is half full.
So, what has your life taught you? How have you been better as a result of some of the tough times you’ve gone through? If you’re going through a rough time now, how might you be better as a result of experiencing this?
